Dedicated to Rachel!

So I was sitting there nursing Randy this morning, and I smiled down at him and he started smiling! In fact he was smiling so much that he decided he was done, he would rather just coo and grin at me! So I got the camera, and of course he only smiled once more, and it wasn't as big as before, but oh well!!! Then I got on the computer and and IM was waiting for me from Rachel saying she needed to see his cute face...! So this is for you Rach!

Notice how he is moving his arms so fast!

The one smiley one I caught.

Again with the arms....

What is that thing mom? It looks really interesting!

Oregon 3!

**scroll down to the post titled Oregon to start at the beginning**

On Sunday we had a nice time relaxing at the Phillips and attending their ward. They made us a nice dinner and then we packed up and said goodbye and got on the road to Seaside, Oregon!
Seaside is a resort town north of the Oceanside beach that we went to on Saturday. We had fun walking the boardwalk, riding a few rides, eating at some fun restaurants, and playing at the beach.

The kids on the carousel. Fun, fun, fun!

Making the sand castle. Jeff even found a live crab!

A picture I made Jeff take of me to prove I was really on this vacation!

The final sand castle. It was very sad because the tide went out and the kids never got to see how well all their walls held up to the ocean. I am not kidding, they cried for about a half hour about it.. I wish we had video!!!

We had fun biking around Seaside that evening in this! It was pretty scary when Sara and Robbie took turns driving!!
We started home the next day! Again we found great parks to stretch our legs in, and had fun visiting the Swensons in Nampa on Wednesday and then my family in Brigham City where we all went to eat at Maddox!
It was a great trip!!!

Oregon 2!

Our next stop that Saturday was the Tillamook Cheese factory. We had fun seeing the factory (although the factory had stopped production for the day by the time we go there.....oh well) and eating ice cream.

Jeff also had fun buying crazy sounding cheeses.....for those of you that don't know, he loves cheese!

Then we went to the Oceanside beach! It was so fun! You forget how amazing it is to see the ocean. We didn't bring swimsuits, so everyone got very wet! Don't you love how they are playing in the ocean with jackets on? That is Oregon for you!

Oregon!

**Disclaimer: Okay, someday I will learn how to post more than 5 pictures at a time, and will also learn how to change the order....**

We had a great time on our trip to Oregon! We took two days to get there, and had fun exploring many parks along the way! We arrived at the Phillips in Hillsboro (just outside of Portland) on Thursday night. On Friday we had an amazing 5 course lunch at a culinary school in Portland (Chris's sibs went to school there). It was really yummy and unique, for example, Jeff ordered pickled watermelon rind salad......and I had pureed celery root..... It was delicious and fun to see a little of downtown Portland. Then we walked the grounds of the Nike campus where Chris works. It was beautiful and HUGE!!! A lake, huge sports fields, beautiful gardens and waterfalls....It was very fun. Then Chris took us to the company store where we were able to get some new shoes for half price! Gotta love that! To finish the day off we took the kids to the Pizza Planet. A fun pizza place with lots of blow up toys and a huge climbing/slide area. They had a blast!

On Saturday we hit the road and drove west to the Tillamook forest. We had a great time exploring the Tillamook Forest Center. They have a great award winning movie showing the devastation of the fires in the middle of the last century. We even got to climb up a forest fire watch tower. It was so beautiful here, and a real rain forest. Then we explored the Wilson River bottoms. The kids loved it.

The Wilde's and Phillip's on the Wilson bridge

Look how green it is. p.s. Evie is wearing pillowcase because her dress got wet during our picnic! Aren't I inventive!!

Our family at the top of the tower

This picture is out of order! This was our very first stop...Promontory Point! The steam engines were just getting ready to go. The whistle was very loud!

Tillamook cheese factory

Eating yummy icecream at the famous cheese factory!

The Wilson river explorers

The river is just behind the center. The dads and the big kids had a
great time exploring the banks. It is so beautiful here!

Tillamook Forestry Center

The kids are checking out the forest fire watchtower. It was quite
the climb! The whole forest was completely wiped out in 4 fires from
the 30s to the 50s. It is absolutely lush and beautiful now. They
have a great interpretive center with tons of hands on things for the
kids.

Evie and the geese

Evie was a little more careful around the geese.

Geese

The kids chased all of the geese into the water.

More Nike Campus

There is a big lake in the center of campus the kids thought it was
neat.

Nike campus.

We visited the Nike campus where Chris Phillips works. It was
beautiful. The kids liked climbing on every thing.

Robbie in the tree too

Robbie had to climb the tree as well. Robbie has a big red mark on
his chin. He ans Sara were playing tag and he ran full speed into a
tree.

Sara the tree climber

We stopped on twin falls at a park so the kids could strtch their
legs. There was a great climbing tree. Sara showed us what a good
climber she wAs.

Our summer vacation to Oregon!

Our first stop was at the Golden Spike National Historic Site, in
Promontory UT! It was really cool! There were two replica steam
engines that ran up and down the tracks. It was really neat, but loud!

At the granite temple quarry

We went for a walk at the temple quarry with our cousins. The kids
enjoyed climbing up all the rocks and learning about the area history.

Getting wet

Robbie couldn't resist getting wet in the creek.

Exploring Dimple Dell Gully

We went on a picnic down dimple Dell gully by our house with our
friends the goods.

Robot boy

Having fun being robots at grandmas.
